Realizing high-precision process that does not depend on skilled workers in cutting, plastic processing, and injection molding
Hitachi have developed a "processing / forming error compensation technology" that enables to provide same quality products from different manufacturing site without dependence on experience and know-how of skilled workers in machining, metal forming (forging*1), and injection molding*2 fields. The developed technology can compensate individual differences of equipment caused by installation environment and aging deterioration. Therefore, products with high accuracy can be realized even if they are manufactured by different equipment or different plants. It was confirmed that shape errors of cutting, forging, and injection molding could be reduced to less than ± 25 µm, ± 5%, and ± 1% in each fields, respectively. In the near future, Hitachi will put the "manufacturing with the error compensation technology" into practical use globally, and contribute to the realization of manufacturing processes which are not affected by workers’ skill and equipment’s’ difference.
*1 Forging: A processing method in which a material is pressed into a target shape.
*2 Injection molding: A processing method in which a resin is heated and melted, pressurized and filled into a mold to form a target shape.
